Vascular imaging services

Venous access

Venous access (vein exams) are commonly ordered to evaluate for blood clots in your arm or leg. Providers typically order an ultrasound if you are having limb swelling or pain.

Arterial imaging

Arterial (artery) exams are commonly ordered to evaluate the circulation in your arms and legs. If your provider orders this exam if they are likely concerned about peripheral arterial disease (or PAD).

Cerebrovascular imaging

Carotid exams are specific to the arteries of the head and neck, evaluating the blood flow going to your brain and looking for plaque build-up. These exams are commonly ordered if you are experiencing any stroke-like symptoms.

Abdominal imaging

We perform a number of specialized exams of the abdomen to evaluate blood flow to various organs. For each of our abdominal ultrasounds listed, you will be asked not to eat for eight hours prior to the exam. This helps us visualize the blood vessels more clearly.

Dialysis access

For those in kidney failure that require dialysis to filter the blood, we will assess your arteries and veins in the arms to find the best place for the vascular surgeon to use for your procedure.
