The main Salem Health number is 503-561-5200. If you don’t know who or what department to call, start here.

Patient rooms

At Salem Hospital, phone numbers for patient rooms are the building prefix followed by the room number.

Building A 503-814-XXXX (four-digit room number)
Building B 503-561-XXXX (four-digit room number)
Building D 503-814-XXXX (four-digit room number)

Outside calls may not be received in patient rooms located in the intensive care or pediatric units.

Uniform/scrub colors

At Salem Health we color-code our uniforms (scrubs) so you can easily identify members of your hospital care team. They also wear name badges.

If you don’t recognize someone or aren’t sure what their job is, feel free to ask them about their role in your care. We want you to feel comfortable with all your caretakers at Salem Health. Below is a guide to our uniform/scrubs colors.

  • Registered nurses wear royal blue.

  • Licensed practical nurses wear olive green.

  • Certified nursing assistants wear maroon.

  • Nurse managers wear white coats.

  • Pediatric nurses may wear printed, child-friendly scrub tops with blue pants.

  • Clinical professionals wear navy (lab, radiology, rehab and various tech positions).

  • Respiratory therapists wear teal.

  • Social workers wear regular clothes with a name badge.

  • Rapid response staff wear green.

  • The housekeeping team wears gray.

  • Security officers wear blue and black.

  • Physicians wear a white coat over their regular clothes.

Wi-Fi access

Free Wi-Fi access

Our wireless network allows anyone on the Salem Hospital campus, the West Valley Hospital campus and Salem Health clinics to use personal electronic devices to access the Internet in three simple steps:

  1. Make sure you’ve enabled Wi-Fi on your device.

  2. Select “SalemHealth-Guest” from the available networks.

  3. Authorize the Wi-Fi connection. You may need to click on “I agree” to terms and conditions to connect. Some devices may require you to open a browser window first, which will redirect you to our terms and conditions.
