Aquatic therapy programs
STAR aquatic therapy
After you have completed your therapy, you may be able to continue aquatic therapy on your own with the Swim Therapy Advanced Rehabilitation (STAR) program.
You will need an order from your doctor, and you must demonstrate that you can perform the exercise program on your own. The STAR program is available Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon sessions.
STAR Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a slow, deliberate, almost meditative sequence of movements that began in China but is now practiced worldwide.
With a release from your doctor, you can join STAR Tai Chi classes in the warm water pool. As you grow stronger, you will be able to continue Tai Chi out of the pool and at home.
Group pediatric therapy course
During the summer, we offer an eight-week multidisciplinary aquatic program for our pediatric patients. This fun, group program focuses on socialization, communication, structure, turn taking, following instruction, interaction between patients and following a schedule.
With a one-to-one child-to-therapist ratio, your child will learn from the social aspects of a group class while benefiting from the individual attention provided by one of our licensed pediatric therapists. Devoted to your child’s special needs, our therapists incorporate occupational, physical and speech therapy techniques into the class.
The class is often broken into two groups by developmental level.
