The new ‘What’s New’ in Epic feature

25 Jan 2026

Find updates, changes curated for you

By: G. Andrew Clarke, MD, FACS, Chief Medical Information Officer

“What’s New” helps you stay informed about updates and changes in Epic. It replaces the previous method of using slide decks and provides timely, searchable notifications directly within the system. You will begin to receive notifications about updates and be able to search for “What’s New” content directly in Epic, making it easier to find updates curated for you.

Where to find What’s New content

  • Pop-up (briefly in the upper right corner when you first log in)
  • You can select one of these three options:
    1. Email me a link
    2. Send to mobile
    3. Remind me later
  • You can also search for “What’s New” in the top search bar.

Key changes:

  • Relevant content: Content made visible to you based on your specific workflows. This can look slightly different for each user based on what they do in Epic.
  • Tip sheets may still be used: If a change is significant or complex, additional tip sheets may be created to supplement “What’s New” content. These will be linked to or made accessible where appropriate.
  • Training materials: These will be posted on the Learning Home Dashboard.
