Celebrating survivorship at National Cancer Survivors Day
On June 4, 2025, the Salem Health Cancer Center held a National Cancer Survivors Day celebration. The event united departments across Salem Health and key community partners who lined the campus with educational booths, interactive activities, and generous giveaways. Women’s Imaging, Diabetes and Nutrition, the Community Health Education Center, Oregon Oncology Specialists, the American Cancer Society, Clinical Research, Wound and Ostomy services, and Pet Therapy all played a vital role in creating a vibrant, supportive atmosphere.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ralph Yates delivered a heartfelt recognition speech, honoring survivors and their personal journeys. As a symbol of resilience and renewal, each survivor received a potted succulent plant.
