NICU rooms and spaces

Your baby's NICU care area

Salem Health's NICU is designed to provide specialized care for up to 27 babies within the walls of our NICU, but we can house NICU babies in other units, if necessary. We offer both semi-private and private rooms to create a comfortable and supportive environment for you and your baby. Depending on their medical needs, your baby may be placed in an incubator, infant warmer or crib. To support bonding, we provide a reclining chair and encourage skin-to-skin contact, also known as kangaroo care, which helps promote your baby’s growth and well-being.
