Bio
Dr. Aaron Karlen studied medicine all across the US, first by graduating from the University of Hawaii, then completing their internship and resideny at the University of Minnesota, and finally performing their fellowship at Baylor Medical College in Texas. They have a special interest in utilizing the Wide Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet, or WALANT, technique, which allows patients to be awake and alert throughout their surgery and is considered both safer and more comfortable for patients. His wife is an emergency physician at Salem Health and, along with their two sons, Tristan and Dylan, they enjoy two dogs, two cats, softball, soccer and baseball.
