Salem Health Corporate Integrity and the Oregon Medical Board (OMB) have received reports of scammers contacting licensees by phone, fax and email, falsely claiming to be Board staff or investigators.
In some cases, scammers use spoofing to replicate the OMB’s phone number or email address.
If you receive suspicious communication, do not provide any sensitive information. You may contact the OMB directly to verify the legitimacy of the contact, see below. Please note that the OMB is not able to investigate or track suspicious communications.

Below are examples of reported scam tactics, along with how the OMB handles these situations:

If you believe you have been contacted by a scammer, the OMB encourages you to report the incident to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov. While the FTC cannot resolve individual reports, it uses this information to investigate and pursue fraud cases.
