The first session begins at 5:30 p.m. with Cardiologist Kamran Ghalili, MD from Salem Heart Center, who will discuss types of, and treatment for, heart failure. In the second hour, there will be two options available from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. Orthopedic Surgeon Robert Zirschky, MD from Hope Orthopedics will talk about "Hips and Knees: Hype Versus Reality." Attendees can also choose to learn about modern spine care, management and treatment from a panel of experts including Neurosurgeon Maurice Collada, MD with the Salem Spine Center.

The free wellness seminars are entitled "Learn Well. Live Well. Be Well." Each one is a great opportunity for community members to hear specialists talk about how to live and be well, either by learning about preventative measures or exploring various treatment options available. Many of the specialists will also address what questions to ask primary doctors for specific conditions.

The final installment of the series will occur in McMinnville on Oct. 23. A complete list of topics, locations and a pre-registration form can be found at SalemHealth.org/LearnWell or by calling the Community Health Education Center at 503-814-CHEC (2432).
