Registration is now available for the Dallas Summerfest Fun Run, sponsored by West Valley Hospital, slated for Saturday, July 27.

Events include 5K and 10K races, a 5K walk, and a half-mile run/walk for kids of all ages.

“West Valley Hospital will have a team and we encourage the community to come out and join us,” says Elisa Bledsoe, part of West Valley Hospital’s Community Outreach Team. “It is an easy way to improve your health and well-being and have a lot of fun at the same time.”

The fun runs take place on a mostly flat route so that anyone can tackle their first 5K or 10K race. The 5K circles around downtown Dallas, with the 10K touring City Park as well. The half-mile kids run starts on the corner of Washington and Jefferson Streets, then follows the parade route. All races finish in front of a crowd of cheering parade goers at the courthouse!

Mail-in registration forms are available at West Valley Hospital in the café and online registration is available through the Dallas Booster Club at dhsboosterclub.org through noon on July 24. Race day registration will be available starting at 7 a.m. until 15 minutes before the start of each race at Dallas Radio Shack (988 SE Jefferson St.).

The 10K begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. The kids’ fun run/walk starts at 9:05 a.m. (The parade begins at 11 a.m.) Cost is $25 for the 10K and 5K, and $15 for the kids’ run with proceeds going to the Dallas Booster Club.
