See new surgical suites at West Valley Hospital open house

Dec 06, 2016

West Valley Hospital’s $6.2 million surgical remodel and expansion is on display at an open house on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. Behind-the-scenes tours of the new operating rooms will showcase the latest in surgical capabilities available locally in Dallas.

The remodel significantly enhances the hospital’s surgical space with state-of-the-art technology and spacious new operating rooms that support a wide range of procedures. The new surgical suite, and related changes to the interior, modified the footprint and exterior look of the hospital, located at 525 SE Washington St., Dallas, Ore.

“If you haven’t been to West Valley Hospital lately, now is the time,” said Bob Brannigan, West Valley Hospital chief administrative officer.  “It is a great opportunity for the community to see the space and understand what can be done locally. This has been an investment in quality for the community.”

The public is also invited to meet surgical specialists who do procedures and surgeries at West Valley Hospital, including:

1 p.m. Ruben Pollak, DPM, podiatrist

1:30 p.m. Jaffer Bashey, MD, urologist

2 p.m. Tyson Scott, DPM, podiatrist

2:30 p.m. Alison Smith, MD, general surgeon

3 p.m. Alan Hay, MD, urologist

3:30 p.m. Thomas Mesdag, DPM, podiatrist

“Patients and families will experience a difference,” said Brannigan. “The separate surgery reception area, new private consultation room and the addition of patient tracking technology are just a few examples.”

The remodel included:

  • Two, larger state-of-the-art surgery suites with the latest in boom equipment, video, computer, and ceiling “air curtain” technologies.
  • New and improved communications systems for the nursing staff.
  • Separate waiting room for surgery patients’ family and friends.
  • Private consultation room where family can meet with physicians.

West Valley Hospital worked with CB Two Architects of Salem, Ore., and Turner Construction of Portland, Ore., both experienced in the design and construction of state-of-the-art medical facilities.

West Valley Hospital continues to recruit medical specialists to the community including the services of cardiologists, urologists, a general surgeon, podiatrists and an orthopedist.
