Type & Screen order change

Inpatient Type & Screen orders will be adjusted Monday, July 28, to eliminate duplicate testing and unneeded venipunctures.
Summary of changes:
- Current practice: Type & Screen orders can be ordered at any frequency, which creates duplicate Type & Screen orders, since they are valid for 72 hours.
- New practice: When a Type & Screen order is placed within 70 hours of a valid Type & Screen order, the ordering provider will be prompted to answer a question why the order is needed.
