Meeting the growing demand for patient procedures has been the focus of our strategic efforts to expand capacity. 

As of Thursday, May 1, we’re pleased to announce Salem Hospital has opened an additional two to three procedural locations daily. With Lean problem-solving and provider feedback, we created more capacity to better serve our patients by using existing space. 

We’ve notified surgeons impacted by this change and are already scheduling into this new capacity. This also includes increased availability for first-come, first-served time and additional access to anesthesia procedures outside of the operating room, such as those in the Cath lab, imaging and interventional radiology.

Salem Health has made a significant investment of more than $3 million in new equipment and instruments to support this expansion. We are excited about the positive impact this will have on both our community and the patients we serve.
