Gynecologic oncology provider transition

April 19, 2026

See our plan for continued patient care

By: Andi Petrone, Oncology Service Line Director

We would like to share an update regarding our gynecologic oncology provider transition and our plan for continued care coverage.

Following a recent change in contracted physician coverage, Salem Health is actively recruiting two permanent gynecologic oncologists and one physician assistant to support our well-established program.

During this transition, we are onboarding a team of experienced locum tenens gynecologic oncologists to ensure seamless continuity of care for our patients and referring providers.

The locum tenens physicians will provide comprehensive coverage, including clinic visits, chemotherapy management, surgical services and call responsibilities. This approach ensures uninterrupted access to gynecologic oncology care. Consistent, dedicated provider coverage will begin April 21, with one locum physician scheduled at a time.

The following gynecologic oncologists will provide coverage in the coming weeks:

Additional providers are currently in the credentialing process and will be announced as they are approved.

We remain fully committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered gynecologic oncology care throughout this transition. If you have questions, concerns or need assistance with referrals, call Salem Health Gynecologic Oncology at 503-814-1434.
