Free four-week class helps patients understand, handle pain

“Pain 101” returns to the Community Health Education Center (CHEC) starting Tuesday, May 9.

This four-week class is facilitated by a behavioral psychologist and physical therapist to help people understand and deal with pain. The class provides tools to manage chronic pain including gentle movement, mood management and how to get a good night's sleep.

This class is free and available in-person or virtually. It meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, from May 9 to May 30 in CHEC Classroom 1 at Salem Hospital, Building D. Virtual classes held via Microsoft Teams.

Providers: Do you have a patient that would benefit from taking this class? Refer them via Epic! Select "Referral to CHEC" when placing an order in the patient's chart and our team will reach out to the patient to get them registered.
