Cheryl is responsible for making sure that the day-to-day business operations of Salem Health run smoothly and efficiently so that patients and families have positive interactions when they visit. Salem Health includes Salem Hospital, West Valley Hospital and Willamette Health Partners. Most of the hospital’s departments and services ultimately report to Cheryl. She has direct oversight for the cancer, orthopedic/neurological, cardiovascular, and women’s and children’s service lines. Security and facilities also report to Cheryl.

Jim provides leadership to West Valley Hospital in Dallas, modeling Salem Health’s Lean Management System in strategy, planning and daily operations. He works with physicians and staff, and cultivates relationships with community leaders in Dallas, Monmouth-Independence and Polk County for our responsibilities in population health.

Laurie is responsible for ensuring that the hospital has high quality staff to meet the needs of the community. This includes overseeing staff and provider recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, leadership development, payroll and Volunteer Services. She is also serving as the Interim administrator of the system’s Willamette Health Partners clinics.

Sarah is responsible for setting nursing standards and ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care throughout the Salem Health organization. Areas reporting to Sarah include adult health, critical care, trauma and emergency services.

Cort is responsible for information technology, health information management and telecommunication services. As Interim Chief Medical Officer he takes the lead in developing relationships and partnerships with members of the medical staffs which allow Salem Health to implement strategies consistent with the changing health care environment.

Leah serves as the liaison responsible for supporting the integration of Kaizen principles to improve quality and safety for patients at Salem Health. Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning continuous improvement. Leah oversees patient safety, employee health, risk management, project management and peer review support. In her interim role she is also responsible for pharmacy, lab, imaging, nutrition services, environmental services, and the Community Health Education Center (CHEC).

Brenda oversees the day-to-day operation of the operating rooms, presurgery areas, the bariatric program and the post-anesthesia care unit.
