Maternal-fetal medicine

For women with high-risk pregnancies, comprehensive prenatal and postnatal care is available locally through Salem Health's maternal-fetal medicine clinic and neonatal intensive care unit.

Genetic counseling

Direct care or genetic consultation is provided for women with medical or surgical disorders that contribute to high-risk pregnancy such as heart disease, high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, kidney disease, gastrointestinal disease, lung disease and infectious diseases such as HIV.

Other services offered include:

  • Care for pregnant women with multiple pregnancies or those at risk of preterm labor, preterm rupture of the membranes, or recurrent pregnancy loss.

  • Detailed ultrasound examinations as well as diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis.

  • Basic genetic counseling, prenatal screening and diagnostic tests.
