West Valley Hospital bylaws up for review
By Melinda Seibert, Medical Staff Services Manager
The West Valley Hospital Bylaws Review Committee was formed to do periodic comprehensive review of our rules so that they accurately reflect current state and practices. If you work through WVH, it’s your turn to review!
Proposed revisions will be posted for 30 days and are available via Common Ground through the following links: Part 1 and Part 2. After 30 days, ballots will be mailed to WVH medical staff with active staff status to locations on file with the Medical Staff Office.
Please email any questions or concerns to the Bylaws Review Committee Chair, Clark McDonald, MD, at Clark.McDonald@salemhealth.org.
Committee members working with Dr. McDonald: Christine Clark, MD; Claire O’Brien, MD; Kelly Aebi, interim Medical Staff Office manager; Melinda Seibert, WVH Medical Staff Office supervisor.
Stakeholders in the review process also include:
- Barbara Blackmond, senior partner in the law firm of Horty, Springer and Mattern, P.C. She works extensively with hospitals and physician leaders on credentialing matters and in the defense of antitrust lawsuits filed against hospitals and medical staff leaders. Salem Health has a long-standing contract with this firm and often seeks its advice.
- Keith Bauer, Salem Health legal counsel
- Debra Harris, Director Health Information Management
