From IT to you: small, impactful changes through continuous improvement

When Salem Health IS considers continuous improvement, we look at people, process and technology.

Two recent quick and easy improvements that are already yielding waste reduction:

  • All Salem Health computers now display the computer name and other details in the top right corner of the desktop background. This will save time whenever you call the Solution Center—no more searching around for the sticker or trying to remember a keyboard shortcut!
  • After the Solution Center received reports from several providers, our Epic analysts found a change to an old setting that will reduce confusion when ordering lab draws on night shift. In the past, a.m. draw was an option for both urgency and frequency. We have now fixed the redundancy and a.m. draw is now a frequency only. All other urgencies remain the same.
