Bio
"A fourth generation Colorado native, Dr. McCormick is the first doctor in his family (a fact hotly contested by his PhD father). He was educated in Colorado until he was accepted into orthopaedic residency in Pennsylvania. He won multiple awards as a Chief Resident, before gaining specialty experience at the prestigious Campbell Clinic Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Memphis, Tennessee, where he authored several research articles and textbook chapters.
Since moving to Salem in 2012, he became the first surgeon to do an ankle replacement in the Willamette Valley and specializes in minimally invasive techniques using the latest equipment. He lectures for medical students and at specialty conferences, has served on multiple boards, and was named one of Salem’s Top 3 orthopedic surgeons. Consistently ranking high in patient satisfaction evaluations, he prides himself in his kind and attentive care, whether it’s for professional athletes or his next door neighbor.
Dr. McCormick has always considered himself a “tinkerer” and now uses his creativity to advance the study of orthopedic surgery by designing surgical tools. Outside of his practice, he enjoys skiing, camping, bonsai, travel, foraging for wild mushrooms with his three young children, and locksmithing, although not all at the same time. "
