Bio
Dr. Taksali graduated from Rush University Medical College and completed his fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is deeply passionate about fostering open communication with his patients as the foundation to develop mutual trust, a critical element in serving his patients, as the majority of them have experienced trauma. He is also interested in nutrition, and feels that it offers us the potential to cure diseases instead of simply managing symptoms with medications. He has pursued a plant-based diet for over a decade, which has led to his participation in the documentary Eating You Alive. When he is not caring for patients, he enjoys music and photography, is a huge sports fan and loves basketball (though he rarely gets the chance to play). More than anything, though, he loves spending time with his family.

Interests
Along with practicing orthopedic trauma surgery, Dr. Taksali has special interests in geriatric fracture management, palliative care, and healthcare economics. Dr. Taksali also has a deep interest in leadership and a commitment to continuous learning. His focus includes developing and executing strategies that optimize operational efficiency, elevate patient care and increase value for patients—where value means delivering the highest quality of care at the most reasonable cost. Dr. Taksali’s leadership extends across multiple roles, where he enjoys collaborating with diverse teams to drive innovation, improve outcomes, and cultivate a culture of excellence.
