Jiyoun E. Kim, MD

Bio
Dr. Kim grew up as an "Army brat," with her father stationed in Texas, North Carolina, and South Korea. She's made herself at home in Salem, where she enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids. She enjoys dancing and good food. She also enjoys getting to know her patients and hearing their unique stories. Part of what attracted her to the field of general surgery was being involved in taking care of people when they felt most vulnerable. She appreciates that privilege very much.

Interests
General surgey, with special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including colon resection, hiatal hernia repair and reflux surgery, adrenalectomy, and inguinal hernia repair. Using laparoscopic techniques in reoperative surgeries is a challenge that she will take on. She also performs ultrasound-guided breast biopsies.
