Visitor guidelines
Visitors are welcome
Your family and friends are welcome! Those outside your close family may see you during regular visiting hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If they need to visit during other hours, talk to your nurse. We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors exposed to contagious diseases or with signs of illness are asked not to visit. Everyone should wash their hands or use the hand sanitizer located in dispensers throughout the hospital.
Family and friends from out of town
The not-for-profit Walton Guest House is available for your family and friends who are from out of town and might not be able to afford lodging.
There are several restaurants and hotels within easy walking distance of the hospital. For more information, visit godowntownsalem.com or travelsalem.com.
We are a non-smoking facility
To support a healthier environment for patients, visitors and staff, the entire Salem Hospital campus is smoke-free, including the parking garages. Nurses may not take patients outside to smoke and hospital equipment cannot be taken outside.
If you smoke, we can make your stay more comfortable with coping techniques. Your doctor can order nicotine replacement therapy (gum, patch or lozenge) for you. Smoking cessation counseling is available.
