Intensive/critical care policies
Salem Hospital Intensive Care Unit has waiting rooms on each floor.
The main entrance to the hospital is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. all hospital visitors must pass through the Emergency Room entrance.
The encouragement patients receive from visitors is important to the recovery process, so we want to be as flexible as possible with visiting hours. We must, however, balance the benefits of visitors with the patient’s need for rest.
Spiritual, emotional and physical support is available through the Chaplain's office and the Social Service department.
